Originally a Victorian piano factory the building infrastructure was dated and at full capacity. An exercise in office space planning with dedicated furniture and workstations increased the occupancy capacity of the office space by a further 30%. The improvements to power and data supply ensured productivity was at its best for the future and that power would remain on without fail. Essential for a business entirely reliant on the internet for its information.

forresterarchitects are working on a Grade II remodelling to an end of terrace house in Camden Town, North London. A fine example of Edwardian architecture is comprised of a fine stucco facade with vertical sliding shutters concealed within the window cills are keys listed features. The accommodation provided is modest and the client needs to expand. The proposal aims to provide a modern glass rear extension which will engage with the garden but remain concealed behind the perimeter garden wall. The only sign of intervention will be the profiled edge of the horizontal roof beyond.

forresterarchitects have completed the refurbishment to a lower ground floor flat in Hampstead, North West London. It is a currently a one bedroom private dwelling with sole use of garden. The proposal aims to reconfigure the internal layout to provide a two-bedroom private dwelling.  The property demise will be extended to provide a larger kitchen extension. To the rear with direct access to the terrace and garden via sliding/folding double glazed units. Sanitary accommodation will be improved and increased to provide a larger bathroom and an en-suite to the master bedroomAdditionally, the second bedroom will be sized to provide a new bedroom to the rear with direct access to the terrace.

A mansion block refurbishment is reconfigured in the Bloomsbury Conservation Area.

forresterarchitects have completed the reconfiguration of a mansion block refurbishment within the Bloomsbury Conservation Area. The flat is large and wide with a communal lightwell providing daylight to the bedrooms. The light levels to the flat even with a south facing aspect were inadequate. The reconfiguration involved making the flat feel more open plan with large sliding doors introduced to the living and kitchen rooms. This allows the south-facing light to flood across the depth of the flat. The bathrooms are modernised with fine joinery wardrobes provided to compliment the bedrooms. A new kitchen layout involved the incorporation of the walk-in larder which increased the overall area of the kitchen for the better.

A modern new build house in the Hampstead Conservation Area.

forresterarchitects have been working in collaboration with another architect have secured planning permission for a new build house in the heart of Hampstead, North West London.
 
The work involves the demolition of the existing house 1930’s chauffeur’s house. It will be replaced by a new build house of uncompromising modernity. The house provides a large open plan floor plate to the ground floor which overlooks the well maintained landscaped garden. A key design feature of the double height lounge space is a 6m high library. A new art gallery forms part of the principal circulation route through the house. This allows guests to view the art work as they walk through the house. The processional stair is held between the bedrooms to one side and the gallery to the other.
 
Each bedroom is located on the front or the rear of the house and keep primary views overlooking the gardens. The house will incorporate a number of sustainable strategies including solar thermal panels, air-borne heat recovery and rainwater harvesting.

A change of use for a former office block in Camden Town.

As a former commercial office a change of use was necessary to convert each floor into a series of two bedroom apartments. To the ground floor a new retail development provides a new commercial proposal to a main Camden High Street thoroughfare.
