Not the only way…a house refurbishment in Essex.

House Refurbishment and Rear Extension | Architects for Havering | Hornchurch, Essex

forresterarchitects are nearing the end of the complete rebuilding of a semi-detached house in Hornchurch, Essex. The house has been planned around a new stairwell which has been repositioned to serve a new floor added to the top of the house.  The energy efficiency of the house has been improved. New double glazed units have replaced all single glazed window. Wall insulation has been added to the exterior facade to keep the heat. Every room has been reconfigured and the floor plan is now much more efficient. A larger than normal extension has also been added to the rear which provides an open plan arrangement throughout the ground floor.

Dining intervention to a garden square Townhouse refurbishment within the Kennington Conservation Area.

Townhouse Refurbishment & Extension | Architects of Lambeth | Kennington Conservation Area, South East London

forresterarchitects have completed the refurbishment and extension to a quaint garden squared mid-terraced townhouse refurbishment, in Kennington, South London. It is a proportioned house in all living and bedrooms but suffered from an unremarkable galley kitchen. The client required a bright and airy modern kitchen and a frameless glazed roof-light extension was proposed. The full-width extension provides increased connectivity between the raised ground floor kitchen, dining room and the lower ground floor lounge room.

A mansion block refurbishment is reconfigured in the Bloomsbury Conservation Area.

Mansion Block Refurbishment | Architects for Camden | Bloomsbury Conservation Area, West Central London

forresterarchitects have completed the reconfiguration of a mansion block refurbishment within the Bloomsbury Conservation Area. The flat is large and wide with a communal lightwell providing daylight to the bedrooms. The light levels to the flat even with a south facing aspect were inadequate. The reconfiguration involved making the flat feel more open plan with large sliding doors introduced to the living and kitchen rooms. This allows the south-facing light to flood across the depth of the flat. The bathrooms are modernised with fine joinery wardrobes provided to compliment the bedrooms. A new kitchen layout involved the incorporation of the walk-in larder which increased the overall area of the kitchen for the better.
