forresterarchitects have been working in collaboration with another architect have secured planning permission for a new build house in the heart of Hampstead, North West London.

The work involves the demolition of the existing house 1930’s chauffeur’s house to be replaced by a new build house of uncompromising modernity. The house provides a large open plan floor plate to the ground floor which overlooks the well maintained landscaped gardens to the front and rear. A key design feature to the double height lounge space is a 6m high library. A new art gallery forms part part of the principle circulation route through the house  which allows guest to view the art work as they rises through the house. The processional stair is held between the bedrooms to one side and the gallery to the other.

Each bedroom is located to either the front or the rear of the house and retain primary views overlooking the gardens. The house will incorporate a number of environmentally sustainable strategies including solar thermal panels, air-borne heat recovery and rainwater harvesting.
